The German Association for Computational Mechanics (GACM) is represented by a young scientist within the ECCOMAS Young Investigators Committee (EYIC), ECCOMAS (European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences) being the European umbrella organization of GACM. The postdoctoral researcher Bastian Oesterle will follow Prof. Alexander Popp on occasion of the next ECCOMAS congress in Paris 2020. In the four-year term of office he will stand in for the interests of young scientists within this most important research association in the field of computational mechanics on behalf of its German branch GACM.
