Interview on teaching with bwJupyter

May 2, 2025

In an interview with TIK, our colleague Nicolai Grünvogel reports on his experiences with the service so far.

The Scientific Computing Center of the KIT (SCC) and the TIK - Technical Information and Communication Services of the University of Stuttgart are developing the state service “bwJupyter for teaching”. The aim is to give all universities in the state access to a central JupyterHub. This has the advantage that students can use an environment for the programming languages Julia, Python, R and C++ without any installation effort. The development of this service is being funded by the Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg as part of the “"Hochschulen in der digitalen Welt” dialog process.

At the request of some students, we have been using this platform since this semester.
