Visit of IBB @ University of Calgary

November 7, 2022

On November 4th, Manfred Bischoff and David Forster, who are coordinating the student exchange between the University of Calgary and the Universität Stuttgart, had the chance to meet their fellows at the beautiful campus in Calgary. The exchange between the two Universities was initiated back in 1980 by the Professors Ekkehard Ramm and Walter Dilger and lasts ever since, supported by the DAAD Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst.

The day started with a fruitful discussion at the international office with the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Research (International) Janaka Ruwanpura, PhD, PEng and Colleen Packer.

Thereafter, a meeting with the leadership team of the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary took place, including Bill Rosehart, Jocelyn Hayley, Anders Nygren, Meera Singh, Nigel Shrive, Jenny Cruickshank, Emily Wyatt, dealing with the continuation of this long-lasting program.

After a presentation and Q&A session of Prof. Bischoff and David Forster about the opportunities for UC students, the two of our Institute met the three exchange students from Stuttgart, studying in Calgary at the moment, shown in the picture in front of the Engineering building.

We have to say thank you to all the people we met yesterday, it was a real pleasure for us!
