At the personal invitation of Christian Linder (Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and, by courtesy, of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, California) former Head of Institute Ekkehard Ramm gave a lecture as part of the renowned John A. Blume Distinguished Lecture Series:

Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge - From the Beginning until Today

The lecture in the almost full Bechtel Conference Center met with an overwhelming response.
